Sunday Mornings at Sammamish Hills
During the Worship Services
Children are welcome here! Our services and worship space are designed with all in mind: children, youth, parents, adults of all ages, family, and friends. We incorporate various elements to make worship a cross-generational experience that is a blessing to the community at large, and builds a strong foundation for children to grow in faith.
Each week families worship together during our 8:45 & 10:45 AM services. Special bulletins, activities, and child involvement are specially designed for families to grow in faith together during church.
Worship Tool Box activity bags are available at the Information Desk in the Narthex (lobby). If needed, the Quiet Room is in the left rear of the church and is equipped with a speaker and window so that those providing childcare might continue to follow the service.
We have a space in the sanctuary that is our Pray-Ground space for families and children. Quiet toys are located under the pews, there is space for dancing, moving, playing, coloring, singing and praying during the worship services. Children are welcome here!
Sunday School:
Sunday School takes place at 9:55.
Primary Sunday School:
Dragon Slayers: 3rd through 5th graders are a part of the Dragon Slayer group. In addition to looking at scripture through Art, Science, Cooking, Music, Storytelling, and Games, they also practice leadership and learn about different challenges they may face in life, as well as how to combat these “dragons”. They also share personal experiences and pray for one another.
Faith Tools You Can Use
In Sunday School, we model the Faith
Inkubators Faith 5: 1) Share highs and lows, 2) Read scripture, 3) Talk
about the scripture or retell the story in a unique way, 4) Pray for one
another and the world, and 5) Bless one another and the world. Download a copy of the guide here.
We
encourage you to practice the Faith 5 at home. If you would like to be even
more involved in Sunday School, or have questions, please contact Robin Shealy at rshealy@shlc.org.
