And in the church God has appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, also those having gifts of healing, those able to help others, those with gifts of administration... 1 Corinthians 12:28

Communications

The Church Council, the Church Office, and staff members communicate with the congregation in many ways. The purpose of these communications is to inform members and friends about future events, as well as reporting results or happenings to celebrate or prayers and support needed.

Daily: (Monday through Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm)

If you have a question, please call the Church office at 425.392.7799 and we will find the answer to your question to the best of our ability.

Website: We maintain our website daily at www.shlc.org. If you have internet access, please set this up as one of your favorites. Anytime of the day or night, you can access information about the ministries of Sammamish Hills at this website. If you have questions or need to change your area of ministry, please email to Kim Rodriguez (formerly Howarth) (Kim@shlc.org) those changes or additions.

Weekly:

The most important place to locate current information is weekly in the What's Happening" inserted in the Church Bulletins. If you have an announcement about your ministry area, the deadline is Tuesday at 12:00 noon each week. Your announcement needs to go to Kim Rodriguez (formerly Howarth) (Kim@shlc.org) or by calling her at 425.392.7799 x.11.

Individual program areas (e.g. High School Ministry, Middle School or Confirmation Ministry, Sunday School) regularly communicate to parents and students by email and newsletter.

Monthly:

A monthly newsletter is mailed to all those on the newsletter mailing list typically the last week of the month in order to highlight those events and activities coming in the next month. Deadline for this newsletter is the 15th of each month to Kim Rodriguez (formerly Howarth) (Kim@shlc.org)

Periodically:

Email news updates and announcements are periodically sent regarding important issues to the life of the congregation. If you wish to be added to the broadcast email list, please contact George Tundrea (george@shlc.org). And at home, put the shlc.org domain in your safe list so that the email will not go into your junk email box.

Mailings using bulk mail (pre-paid postage) are periodically sent to members and friends on important issues to the life of the congregation. They include, but are not limited to, contribution statements, invitations and announcements about special events, letters from the Church Council about meetings of the congregation, as well as special events. If you wish to be included on these mailings, please contact George Tundrea (george@shlc.org).

Building and Grounds

Each spring and fall, the church holds a "clean up" of the church grounds and buildings. Volunteers come to weed, prune, bark, mow and edge, wash windows and help in other ways all over the church grounds. In the spring, this gives us a "jump start" on summer and beautifies the grounds for Easter; in the fall it is a time to clean up all the leaves and overgrown areas prior to winter. Watch the church weekly What's Happening  bulletin for announcements of work days and join us!

Kiosk Ministry

Our three parking lot kiosks are changed monthly to reflect the current season and events taking place here at Sammamish Hills. These efforts strive to keep both the community and our members informed of all that is taking place here in our congregation.

Scrapbook Ministry

Team Leader: Deb Grove (lakesidememories@earthlink.net)

Team Members: Deb Grove, Diane Lee, Evelyn Cleeton, Juli Johnson, Margaret Rosenow, Sandi Heller

We have established a visually pleasing and archival safe photo album of most of the members, events and ministries of SHLC.

Volunteers meet on a regularly monthly basis to work together. We have transferred the church history from deteriorating books with no documentation to an engaging story for anyone to enjoy. Be sure to look at the scrapbooks from 1980-1996. We are currently working on photos and documentation for 1997 and later. If you have photos or other information for any year, please donate them for the scrapbook. Even digital photos are welcome. Be sure to add the name of the event, the date, and names of persons on the picture. The entire congregation benefits from this project.
