What’s Going On for Youth?

Meet the New Student Ministries Intern:  Kaitlin Torgerson has come on board to work with student ministries for the next 6 months.  All high school youth are invited to join Kaitlin on Sunday, October 5, 2-3:30 p.m. at the Eastlake Starbucks.  With a cup of coffee in hand (or fruit smoothie or tea) get to know Kaitlin, share some of your summer highlights, and give input for activities, gatherings, and events for the coming year.  Help shape this year by giving your ideas!  If you can’t make it, be sure to call or email her (kaitlin@shlc.org) to meet at another time.

Have a sports or concert schedule?  No matter what your talent may be—football, soccer, band, dance, plays, choir, hula hoop, or baton twirling, Kaitlin would love to see you perform.  Send her your schedule or invite her to one of your events.  Also, if you’re planning on heading out to a game or concert, let Kaitlin know and she’ll meet you there so that you can give her the play-by-play and cheer on your school!

DAWG Pound for all 6th Graders:  DAWG stands for Doing Awesome Work God-style, which is what this group is all about.  DAWG Pound will be meeting the first and third Wednesdays of every month to join together in community, play some awesome games, get to know one another and learn about Christ’s love.  We’ll also be getting together one Sunday a month for a fun activity or service project.  DAWG Pound will be meeting October 1st and 15th from 7-8:30pm.  Come prepared with ideas for activities and service projects!  Contact Kaitlin for more information.  And by all means, bring a friend, or two, or three, or…
